KOR
Private chats with a lifetime: when time runs out, the chat goes dark and KOR cannot bring it back. Your number is optional, and the 24-hour chat is free, always.
Who it is for

Why it helps
For conversations that do not need to last.
Meet without giving your number
Someone you just met asks how to reach you. Give them your nickname instead of your phone number; they type it, send a request, and nothing reaches you until you accept.
Find the friends who are already here
Tap “Match my contacts” and see which people in your phone's contacts use KOR, each under the name you saved. Send a request with one tap.
Talk, then let it go
Some conversations only matter for a day. Open a 24-hour chat; when it ends, the chat and its key are gone from both phones and from our server, and nobody can extend it.
What you get
Everything in the app, what it does for you, and why KOR.
Your number is optional
- What it is
- KOR needs no account, no email and no SIM. Pick a nickname; if you like, add your number too. There is no code and no verification.
- What you get
- You decide how people can reach you.
- Why KOR
- Most messengers start with your phone number; in KOR it is your choice.
Find friends by nickname or contacts
- What it is
- A friend types your exact nickname, or matches their contacts and finds you under the name they saved. Numbers are only checked for a match and are not kept; names never leave the phone.
- What you get
- You find the people you know without typing anything.
- Why KOR
- There is no user list, no suggestions and no public search.
Nobody writes until you accept
- What it is
- Every contact starts with a request. If you decline, the other person is not notified; you can also block them or remove a contact later.
- What you get
- Nobody you do not want can write to you.
- Why KOR
- Removing a contact also ends any open chat with them on your phone.
A lifetime for every chat
- What it is
- A new chat gets its lifetime when you open it. It starts when the first message reaches KOR and cannot be changed or extended.
- What you get
- You know from the start how long the conversation will exist.
- Why KOR
- The lifetime is the same for both sides; nobody can stretch it later.
Free 24-hour chats
- What it is
- The app, messaging and 24-hour chats are free. No trial, no message quota, no payment to get started.
- What you get
- You use the whole app without paying.
- Why KOR
- Shorter lifetimes (12, 6, 3 or 1 hour) are planned as a premium option later; the 24-hour chat stays free.
End-to-end encryption
- What it is
- Messages are encrypted on your phone and open only on the two phones in the chat. The server only carries encrypted data.
- What you get
- Your messages stay between the two of you.
- Why KOR
- The key that could open them is never on the server.
The chat goes dark
- What it is
- When time runs out, the chat records and the content key on the phone are destroyed and the chat record on the server is deleted.
- What you get
- A finished chat does not come back.
- Why KOR
- KOR keeps no chat history, backup or export; even the company cannot bring a finished chat back.
Your identity stays hidden
- What it is
- Your KOR identity is never shown or shared on any screen. Friends see your nickname or the name they saved for you, and message previews are never shown.
- What you get
- There is no code that points to you and nothing to read over your shoulder.
- Why KOR
- The identity works only inside the app, to route messages.
Quiet notifications
- What it is
- When the app is closed, you get a notification that a new message or request has arrived. It never says who sent it or what it says.
- What you get
- You do not miss a conversation, and your lock screen gives nothing away.
- Why KOR
- Notifications are optional and carry no content.
No screenshots
- What it is
- The app screen cannot be captured as a screenshot or a screen recording.
- What you get
- What you write cannot be grabbed from inside the app.
- Why KOR
- The app also stays blank in the recent-apps view and is closed to assistant screen reading.
Your identity, your call
- What it is
- Your identity stays the same until you destroy it or uninstall the app. You can destroy it at any time; a new installation gets a new, empty identity.
- What you get
- You decide when your identity ends.
- Why KOR
- You destroy it from inside the app, without asking anyone.
Three steps
How to start
Install KOR; your identity is ready the first time you open it.
Pick a nickname; type your friend's nickname or match your contacts, and send a request.
Once they accept, open a 24-hour chat and write.
